Road trip to Kodaikanal!

Kodaikanal:

Kodaikanal is a famous hill station and tourist attraction in Tamilnadu.

Silver Cascade falls:

Silver Cascade falls is a beautiful falls which is situated on the way to Kodaikanal. You could take few snaps from here while enjoying the cool climate of Kodaikanal. You just can't go near the falls as it has been barricaded.

Echo Point:

Echo Point is a view point in Kodaikanal. Be prepared to do trekking. The walk way down hill is full of rough stones and then comes a pathway filled with roots of trees. Finally you reach at Pine tree forest which is filled with fog. The foggy atmosphere adds to the beauty of the place. It's really worth the tekking. Only issue we found was the drive to this place. Road is comparatively smaller and on one side of the road vehicles were parked in line. So if anyone vehicle comes the opposite way you will be trapped. As one side is deep valley taking reverse is a bit risky though with the help of some good guys we made it.

Green Valley View Point:

This is one of the view point in Kodaikanal which gives you an immense view of around 1500 feet deep valley. This was known as Suicide point earlier and was then renamed to Green Valley View Point just to prevent people to get lured in committing suicide. When we reached at the view point the complete valley was covered in fog so we just missed the view. This point covered with fences which might have been done to avoid accidental deaths. You could see a lot of monkeys in and around all the tourist attractions here.

There are many shops on the way from where we took few random clicks.

There is no entry fee to visit this place.

Pillar Rocks View Point:

Pillar rocks is a naturally formed 400-foot-high vertical column of three rocks which looks like a set of man-made pillars. When we reached here we couldn't make out there are rocks due to fog but while we were watching the fog got cleared in slow motion giving us the complete view of the rocks. Slowly slowly the rocks were again covered with fog and then we left the place to visit our next destination.

Entry fee: Rs. 5/- per person
For Camera : Rs. 20/-

Guna caves:
The Guna Caves is a tourist attraction that became very popular after the Tamil movie Guna. It is a very steep set of caves to get in, which increases the risk factor and hence the adventure in exploring the place. Due to its fatal history of few people's death, visitors are not allowed to enter the cave. You can make out the cave as an arrow with direction has been printed on one of the barricade. The walk to the spot is really good as both sides of the pathway are filled with trees giving you it's shadowy love.

It is still a hot spot for clicking pictures. One of the best thing which I liked about this spot was the tree roots that was intertwined together and was spread across one side of this place. People were busy capturing their photos with this beautiful tree roots as the background. Even we clicked few snaps but as many people were around we couldn't get a good picture. Though will share the best pictures that we got among them.

Entry fee: Rs. 10/- per person
For Camera : Rs. 20/-

Kodaikanal Lake:
Kodaikanal Lake is a peaceful and beautiful lake. You could always hire a cycle and drive across the lake or even go for a horse ride. There are boating facility available here. Friends don't even think about walking around the whole lake. Actually we did that mistake and it took forever to reach the starting point. As the climate is good we were escaped from the sweat and heat.

Malampuzha dam:
Malampuzha dam is one of the largest reservoir in Palakkad, Kerala. There are Fountains, Rose gardens, aerial ropeway and a museum. The authorities have maintained the garden in a very good shape. You could climb on the dam and get the beautiful view of the whole garden. The ideal time to visit should be after 4 PM.
