Thiruvangad temple:
Thiruvangad temple is one of the famous temples of Lord Rama in the district of Kannur, Kerala. The temple is located at Thiruvangad, Thalasserry. The temple is generally known as the Brass Pagoda because of the copper sheeting of its roof. It is one of the five major shrines dedicated to Lord Sree Rama in Kerala.
The annual festival of the temple starts on the Vishu day, the first day of the month of Medom (April- May) according to the Malayalam calendar. This is called Vishu Mahotsavam.
According to history, the temple premises had often hosted conferences between the officials of the East India Company and local leaders. According to Kerala Mahatmyam, this temple was consecrated by Lord Parashurama - one of the incarnations of Vishnu.
Apart from the main idol of Lord Rama there are also idols of Lord Hanuman, Sree Porkali Devi, Sree Subramanyan, Sree Ganapathy and Sree Dakshinamoorty, Sree Vanasasthavu, Sree Guruvayurappan (Lord Vishnu).
There are two Shiva temples stand face to face with the Sree Rama temple as models of Shaiva Vishnava unification of southern 'thattakam'.
Sri Jagannatha Temple:
During the late 18th century, caste system was very prevalent in kerala. People of lower caste were denied entry to temples. People belonging to Ezhava caste(ezhava caste is specific to kerala) were denied of worshiping gods and they were forbiddened to enter into the temple. So Sree Narayana guru one of the pioneers of social revolution in kerala, erected a shiva idol in 1908 to abolish the caste system. The temple was open to backward caste while many other temples still were not allowing them to enter the temples. The main deity here is Lord Shiva. Ezhava Shiva was the name given to the idol of Lord Siva by Sree Narayan Guru, emphasizing that the place was open to every caste.
The rituals at Jagannath Temple are conducted by Non-Brahmins.
A statue of Sree Narayan Guru is also installed inside the temple complex.
The temple is made in the style of Jagannath Temple, Puri, Odisha. The idol is made of Panchaloha(5 metals).

Suryanarayana temple is one of the famous and oldest temple located in Kadirur, Kannur, Kerala. Kadirur is in Thalasserry Kuthuparamba route. The temple is believed to have originated in 13th century. The idol here is believed to have consecrated by Lord Rama on his way to Sri Lanka to rescue Sita.
Surya means Sun and Narayana means Lord Vishnu thus the name Suryanarayana suggesting the presence of both Lord Sun and Vishnu.

It is believed that by performing navagraha(nine planets) pooja the negative influence of nine planets on horoscopes can be neutralized considerably. This is held monthly on every second Saturday.
